Awareness
generation “DNYANANJALI”
Students
and youth participation play an important role in building a strong society. We
believe that today’s youth can identify with the struggles that our leaders
have gone through in their young age to reach the pinnacle of success. To carry
forward this idea and facilitate social participation from our young minds, we
conducted an event called “Dnyanajali”. To further elaborate, the idea is to
offer our respect to our leaders by getting to know them, their values and
their life struggles. Under this project, we designed a quiz based on Bharat
Ratna Dr.B.R.DD Ambedkar, the creator of Indian Constitution and a great social
worker. This quiz was conducted through 260 schools in five districts of
Maharshtra and more than 1.75 lakh students participated in the event. It was a
major success in reaching out to the young generation and their families and
planting a seed of community service.
We reach out to people through our network and encourage them to donate old newspapers.
The idea is to collect old newspapers from individuals or families on weight basis, monthly or biweekly. Once we have enough, we sell these old used news papers to paper manufacturing companies through local agency to raise funds. These funds are used for various social projects.
On an average, our monthly collection is 2500 kg and it is done by our volunteers every day depending on local areas and supply available. We use various social media such as WhatsApp group and Facebook to connect with new donors.
Through our efforts, we not only create a network of small donors but also connect with some very resourceful and influential personalities in the community. We help them understand the projects we support and most often, they generously donate for the cause and spread a good word.
